Kennedy spoke at the Moscow State University, the USA Institute of the Academy of Sciences of which Senator Kennedy's speech is included; the subsequent discussion with Arbatov and a four hour session with Brezhnev and two hours with Gromyko.US/Soviet Relations. The discussions with Brezhnev had centred round the question of arms control with Kennedy. Brezhnev plugged the need for continuing detente with considerable fervour. Also discussed were the Super-power relationship, the Indian Ocean, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. |
