Title Despatch giving account of Minister of Technology's visit (1970)
Description The Minister of Technology's visit the USA, April 1970 includes his personal report, a programme of his visit and notes of meetings held. The object of the visit was to have talks with US Government and Agency Officials in Washington and to travel to California, Chicago and New York to meet with various leaders of the business community; and to go to two Universities. The paper discusses the developing nature of Anglo-American relations in industry and technology, relations between Western Europe and the US, relations between the West and Communist Countries, relations between the West and developing countries, Anglo-American exchange of experience, the state of the US economy, higher education, techno-industrial policy for the UN. The Minister of Technology visited the State Department, Executive Office of the President, Council on Environmental Quality, Department of Defense, Department of Commerce, Atomic Energy Commission, Department of Transportation, Department of the Interior, Lockheed, and the Northwestern University.
