Title | Trilateral Commission on relations between the USA, Japan and the EEC (1973) |
Description | Discussion with Masay Miyoshi Deputy Director in the International Economic Affairs Department in Keidanren (Federation of Economic Organisations) on the recent trilateral business talks in Monte Carlo. The EEC and US representatives had just held bilateral talks in Monte Carlo, preceding the trilateral meeting which had been heated, with confrontations over the Common Agricultural Policy and over the EEC's preferential trade arrangements. The agenda for the trilateral business talks had covered: the International monetary system, international investment, trade relations between industrialised countries, including tariffs, non-tariff barriers, "safeguards", and agricultural trade and energy and natural resources. |
